The Agrarian Adventure partners with K-12 schools to enrich students’ connection between the foods they eat, their personal health, and the health of their communities and the environment. Through experiential education in sustainable food and agriculture, local food, and healthy learning in the cafeteria, we connect students to the sources of their food and empower them to transform their lives and the food culture in positive ways.

Our Mission:
Helping people improve their lives and communities through gardening. Growing Hope fosters learning, improves nutrition, encourages self-reliance, and promotes positive community futures.

Target Audience:
Growing Hope primarily serves under-resourced and disadvantaged populations, either directly or through collaboration with partner agencies/organizations.

Growing Hope serves as a technical assistant, program coordinator/partner, and general resource for non-profit organizations, public agencies, and educational institutions that wish to use gardening as a way to further their social, educational, and/or environmental missions. Activities include providing start-up and ongoing gardening assistance, developing and coordinating programs, teaching classes and workshops, developing curricula and training materials, and facilitating partnerships and collaboration.

Avalon Housing

Avalon Housing is a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and managing permanent supportive rental housing for people with extremely low incomes in Washtenaw County. Avalon owns and operates 173 units, scattered at fifteen sites throughout Ann Arbor. Rents are structured to be affordable to people with incomes at or below 30% of the area median income. The majority of households include people who were homeless or who have a mental or physical disability. Voluntary support services are available to all tenants in order to assist them in maintaining their housing stability and enhance their quality of life.

Premiering productions in its home base of Ann Arbor and touring them throughout Michigan and the Midwest, Wild Swan Theater has enchanted hundreds of thousands of play-goers of all ages in theaters, schools, libraries, and museums of all sizes.
